What are some fun activities in Cuba? |
Travel Info -anywhere -NOT the beach -(shopping, adventure, ATV)??? Travel Tips Aside from beaches, not a lot. If you're American be very sure not to get a stamp in your passport or use any credit/debit cards. Edit: By the way, Cuban vendors will accept Visa/Mastercard and border officials will stamp passports unless you have a card available at non-US travel agents. The embargo is unilateral and is not recognized by the Cubans. Visa/Mastercard can do business there because they are not exclusively American companies. Others CUBA??? smocking of course,,, Smoking their cigars hanging from a coconut tree while banging the local skirt! How about diving, snorkelling and fishing? or does that come under the beach? By the way Cuba does not accept American Credit cards - and they do not stamp your Passport either - due to something called an embargo Tour Havana!!!! Also, talk to the locals! I hear Cubans are quite friendly. Go on a tour of Pinar del Rio. Check out the cigar factories and tobacco fields. Look at some historical sites. We found the jet skis adventure near Varadero very good and exhilarating. It's organised and they take you a little way out to sea and then you go slowly through the mangroves which takes you to a little 'zoo' where you get to hold a crocodile (not so good). You have to visit Havana. Try and get a guided tour, there is so much to see there. You will find though that you get a lot of locals asking to have their picture taken with you for money, or asking if you have any toiletries. We took some colouring pencils and pens for the children who come up to you with their big brown eyes. A lot of people expect tips over there. Wonderful place! |
