Has anyone stayed at the Mercure Cuatro Palmas in Varadero, Cuba??? |
Travel Info I would like to find out if this budget Cuban hotel is really that bad or if your stay was enjoyable. Although I usually choose 4-5 star hotels in poorer countries my budget will not stretch quite so far as the prices. Please advise me if you had a good time and if the rooms and beach etc were clean and of a good standard. Also any information rearding the food, was it okay??? Thanks y'all. Travel Tips It was be more authentic if you stayed at a casa particular. These are private homes that rent rooms to foreigners. Usually, food is included. If you decide to visit Cuba, please do not limit your trip to Varadero. The Cuban people cannot even visit this pristine beach, they are forbidden from entering it. You will be with a bunch of Italians & canadians. Havana & the other provinces are fanatstic & even more so if you experience its reality & its people. Others Totally agree with the point above I stayed in the Melia Varadero about 10 years ago and the Cuatro Palmas was in a better position than the Melia and it looked quite nice.At the time there were only a few shops in the resort and the cuatro palmas was near these.Varadero beach is one of the best in the world.Havana and Bacardi Island are well worth seeing Why don't you look into staying at the Barlovento. It is one of the first on the strip and it looked quite nice. I have heard good things about it. I was going to stay there but decided to splurge on Blau Varadero when it first opened. |
