Is it immoral to go to Cuba for a vacation? |
Travel Info Is it immoral to go to Cuba for a vacation? Travel Tips Let me put it this way: the money you spend in Cuba does not go to the poor people who starve in that country, it goes to the government and the owners of the resorts (mainly from Spain). There are some saying that people in Cuba do not starve, that they have an excellent education and health plan, that everyone knows how to read, bla bla bla but believe me, not one of these things matter when they have no liberty to buy a loaf of bread when they want to (they have "food tickets" from the government or libreta de racionamiento) and have to be "jineteras" or prostitutes if they want a couple of dollars to buy an aspirin (if they find one) So, YES it will be inmoral as you will have a great time there, eat plenty of food in places where only tourists can eat, drink a lot, buy cigars, while the population gets zero cents out of your money, it all goes to Fidel's account. Others I don't know if it's immoral, but is is illegal for US citizens. it is illegal if you are a united states citizen -- not immoral. god would probably bless you richly for going and seeing all the good things castro has done. |
