You also have to change it back at the airport Source(s): Went last year Other Travel Tips You may want to take euros you'll get the best exchange rate ,and if u didn't know Cubans have there own currency you can use them anywhere else so make sure exchange what you'll expend other wise you'll be stuck with it sense you can change it back or even use it anywhere else .i know I'm Cuban and i was there in march have a good trip. If you need anything else feel free to e mail me lolli. I took sterling with me - advised not to take any cards or travellers cheques affiliated with American Banks - so check your credit card. ATM's are very few and far between I was getting between 160/179 CUC's per 拢100.00 If you all inc. you will only need money for tips (which are expected) souvenirs etc. I took a credit card for emergencies and paying for excursions - and I got a very good exchange rate.
