Travel Info Will cuba ever be an American territory? Travel Tips I hope not!!! Cuba is a beautiful place and if the americans take it over the beaches will become Condo's and there will be McDonalds on every corner. Others Most likely not in our life time. Not if you ask Cubans. They have heard about American healthcare and education costs and they were appalled by the Hurricane Katrina miseries. Doubt it. Why would they want to enter into that kind of relationship with us, and vice versa? No we already gave them their independence in the 1800s or something. I don't really see any reason why we(the U.S.) would want them now when we chose not to own it at that time. It was a protectorate until Castro and his buddies took over.
