Is it possible to move to Cuba as an American citizen? |
Travel Info My girlfreind is applying to medical school in Cuba for some intergovernment medical scholarship and I was wondering if I could possibly move there for seven years while she studies. Travel Tips Not unless you pledge unconditional loyalty to Castro and Cuban cigars... Although, before doing that I would check with the U.S. State department to try to get an exception to allow you to travel to Cuba without any repercussions when you come back to the U.S. Cuba welcomes you with open arms but America welcomes you back with a clenched fist to the gut!!! Source(s): A U.S. citizen who traveled to Mexico and then Cuba and then back to Mexico only to get caught on my return to the states!!! Other Travel Tips You could, but it wouldn't be easy. Be well informed before you go. im not sure.....i dont think so. our goverment thinks cuba is bad, doesn't it? Cuba welcomes Americans. It is the US governemnet that has banned Americans from travelling to Cuba however. You can move there but you have to hide it from the government (some democracy America!!) which means not getting your passport stamped Yeah you could. It will take a lot of time, and I do believe they can reject your application for moving there. You might want to consider a long distance relationship though. It WILL be really tough to get back in to the US, and unless you're married to this girl, nothing is certain, and you're putting up WAY too much for her without saying "I do." sure .. just dont plan on comming back to the states. |
