Does anyone know why I cannot book a flight to Cuba? |
Travel Info I've been trying to book a flight on-line to Cuba for vacation. Apparently Cuba is not allowing flights from the U.S. Is there still conflict between the U.S and Cuba which does not allow travel to Cuba even if you are a U.S citizen? Travel Tips WOW.......Very Good Anwers But I have a sense that many who have answered your question have not experienced CUBA firsthand and beleive what the media feeds false information about CUBA. Of course, people wont go because THE GOVERNMENT told us not to go! I myself have traveled to Cuba just recently and plan to go back. You can go through a third country such as Canada and Mexico and NO, the Cuban Immigration DOES NOT STAMP your passport. You will have a seperate visa for the immigration official to stamp. I recommend that you take a flight out of Mexico to Cuba. I personally like Mexicana Air, since they dont "Nickel & Dime" you for extra drinks and the alcohol is "FREE", yes "FREE". Enjoy your trip to Cuba! VIVA CUBA! Others There is a boycott going on since the 60's. If you insist on traveling to Cuba, you have to explore other routes. One possibility is to go via Caracas, Venezuela. Mind you that US citizens that travel to Cuba will be registered by your government in Washington. get a flight out of Canada Wow, have you lived under a rock for the past...... TWENTY years? The US and Cuba do not get along. I would not want to go there anyway. People escape Cuba on rafts and stuff so they can become citizens here. That's as bad as wanting to visit Guatemala. This has existing since the 1960s! If you hold a passport from the USA you can not enter the country of Cuba. How long have you been cognizant in the 20th and 21st centuries? You cannot book travel to Cuba (ESPECIALLY IF you are a US citizen) because the US State Dept. forbids it - its illegal. The only persons who are granted permission to visit the dictator controlled, human rights violating nation are those with scholarly or artistic special permissions. Even US citizen, former Cuban nationals are not free to visit the island whenever they like (although, frankly, most of them don't want to give Castro a single US dollar to pursue his cruel and inhuman government's objectives). U.S. citizens are not allowed to travel to Cuba. The only way to accomplish this is by flying first to another country, such as Mexico. From there, when you enter Cuba, you will have to bribe the officials so that they will not stamp your passport. If you are a U.S. citizen, and you manage to get to Cuba - on your way back if the immigration officer sees that your passport has been stamped by Cuban authorities, you wil be thrown in jail. |
