Traveling to holguin Cuba with a baby is it necessary to take babies nappies with me or can we buy there? |
Travel Info can we puchase disposable nappies in holguin cuba Travel Tips We were in Holguin Cuba last year. I would definitely bring disposable nappies as Cuba is in very short supply of things like soap, shampoo, toothpaste, feminine products, medical supplies, etc. We brought such toiletries to give to the staff that work at the resort that we stayed in, and they were very much appreciated. Others They have virtually nothing in Cuba, sweetie......couldn't you have picked a better place???? Take it with you....You maybe disappointed in other brands. Take absolutely everything you need. They have nothing there. Not a very good place to take a baby. I'd take them with you if I were you - they do have everything there but it won't be the brands you are used to (pretty much everything is state-produced) and if your baby has a bad reaction to them there won't be anything you can do about it. Don't let if put you off - with enough you're planning you'll be fine. Cuba's one of the best places I've ever travelled - hope you have a good time :) I know it was some years ago when we visited the Holguin area, but unless things have changed radically, everything will be in short supply, and unless your tourist hotel supplies what you need, it would be very unwise to hope the few shops open will have stocks of nappies. There is/was no parallel in the capitalist world to compare with the everyday shortages experienced by Cubans. I went there as a vehement supporter of Castro's bravery, but was not prepared for the widespread poverty. Many people will tell you that in retrospect they wished they'd taken suitcases full of basic items like clothes, soap, and toothpaste, to give away to the people who have nothing. Most still have a fierce pride in their country however. Have been to Holguin twice and hardly spent any money. There is nothing to buy. Take everything you need with you to be on the safe side. Don't get me wrong it's a wonderful place to go on holiday or I wouldn't have revisited. |
