Whats the best place to get info on Cuba? |
Travel Info Please help me ^,^ Travel Tips google Others unless you go to cuba, its all hearsay There is a fantastic travel guide that I used when travelling through Cuba called Lonely Planet 'Cuba'. Web site listed below will tell you where you can buy it. These are the best travel guide books for any country in the world and I have travelled and lived in many and couldn't have done as well as I did without them! Great! Great! Great! I can also tell you a little about my trip, I did a charity cycle ride (500km in 5 days) and travelled throughout. The place is beautiful, the people are friendly, everything is rundown, the cars are from the 1950's and 1960's. The Mafia used to run most of the big hotels there, I stayed in one built for the mafiosa of Capone's era. The food is not so good, but only because their supplies are very limited. Each child gets 1 glass of milk per day at school until they are 12 or 13. There are some good things that go on there and not everyone wants to escape it, they just want America to stop blackmarking them so that they can do some trade! http://shop.lonelyplanet.com/search_prod... Because of the US embargo of Cuba (since 1963!!), the US State Department is not the most unbiased source of information about Cuba. Cuba.com is a good place to start and granma.cu is the official news site of the country. For travel information, lonelyplanet.com has some excellent resources. Good luck and don't let them stamp your passport! |
