Anyone been to cuba ? Any tips?

Travel Tips
yes,very cheap.
take lots of toiletries(soap,toothpaste,sha... foam etc)the locals find them very expensive over there.
when are you going because this time of year is thr hurricane season.

Others
It's quicker to get there by plane
It's great but unlike anywhere else. Almost everything is in short supply so anything you really need, take with you. Batteries, sun tan lotion, crisps etc.

If you're a vegetarian get used to eating rice and beans cos there isn't much else.

The one place you absolutely must go to, apart for Havana, is Santiago de Cuba. A wonderfully preserved town with many beautiful coloured houses.

And finally drink at least one mojito in every bar you go into.

Hope this helps.
Yes, we were in Cayo Coco in April this year, Cuba is a fantastic place and the cubans will do anything to make your stay even better, the beeches are like white talcum poweder in between your toes, the ocean is the most amazing colour of aquamarine blue, fish swim in and out of your legs, take some bread and bananas from the buffet each day to feed the fish, just hold it in your hands and the fish will come swarming round you to eat it, that is truly amazing, if you have your own snorkling gear take that too as though the hotels say its free, it is but for one hour only per day, take every conceviable toiltery you think you will need with you as they are impossible to find and very expensive if you manage it, take enough suncream and aftersun for the length of your holiday too, Avon do a aftersun with mossie repelent in it which is excellent and stops the mossies biting you, take antiistameans with you too and mossie spray for your legs, we had no problem with the mossies but we did a bit with sand flies, so spray your legs from the knees downwards each night before you go to dinner and the bars, it helps big time, don't forget a hat of some sort too as it does get very hot midday and you don't want a burnt scalp, leave all the stuff you don't want to bring home with you for your maid she will be delighted, if you can take a few writing pads and pens, tampax and an umbrella for the maid too, have a fantastic time, you will love it, it really is a fantastic place and the people are just amazing.
under no circumstances go to rancho luna in cienfuegos, i have never in my life been to a worse " all inclusive" dump, what a joke, all inclusive means is pop, local beer, water and rum....everything else i had to pay for...and the food!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG garbage is being kind.....and i paid decent money for that dump, even the aircon in the room didnt work....so they moved me, the next one didnt work either..........as far as getting medical insurance before you go?, whats the point, they have no medicine!!...........i wouldnt go back to cuba for any reason......lovely people though....
