Where to go in Cuba???

Cuba??? HELP please.?
I am going on a vacation to Cuba with friends and we don't know where to stay. (Cayo Coco, Veradero or where?)

Has anyone been there, if so where? We would like a fun resort with a night life and good food and a nice beach. Has anyone got any ideas? Where did people have a good time? Any specific resort?
(we are in Canada)

Travel Tips

Varadero is a lot better for young people. There is a lot more to do there and the beaches are great. I stayed at Blau which was very nice. Its new, clean and the rooms are great...but I think more middle aged people go there. A cheaper hotel that I heard was fun and in a good location was "Barlovento" Book a 4* hotel if you can..any less than that and you are taking your chances of bad rooms, food etc. Try to stay closer to downtown...so you aren't spending a lot of money on taxi's.

Man..i thought you were in US..i was like how are they going..Im Cuban and ive never been..i want to go though..just a tip from my relatives who have gone..dont drink beer from a mug..they water it down with weird water..just a tip
I was in Cuba in November (Varadero). The beach is absolutely wonderful. I was at the Sandals, which doens't have a great night life. Food can be difficult in Cuba, so you might want to go to a better renown hotel chain. I would recommend the Melia or Tryp (same chain).

I just wish I could go back there...

Hi, I went several times to Cuba but if you want more fun, go to Bavaro-Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, a lot of good resorts , beatifull beaches and the locals are more fun, not unhappy as in Cuba.

Guantanamo, that place is great, Havan.Granma,Las Tunas,Camaguey,Holguin,Santiag... de Cuba, Giego de Avila, Isla De La Juventud and Pinar del rio.... and of there places are great to go.
