Hotel Tryp Cayo Cocco, Cuba? |
Travel Info Anybody been to this hotel? We're due to go in May this year. Whats it like and will the weather be nice there in May? Travel Tips Stayed in Cayo Coco ourselves last year and met a few people who had stayed in the Tryp hotel and loved it, its pretty big and looks lovely, we stopped on our way to our hotel to drop people off there, the weather in May will be lovely and hot, take plenty of suncream and after sun as its so expensive in Cuba, take some mossie spray for your legs too as the sand flies are devils which we found out ourselves, mossie spray from the knee down each night before you go out helps big time, Avon do a great after sun with mossie repellent in and taking antihistamines for two weeks before you go helps big time, tips we picked up from regular Cuba visitors, don't believe everything you read on Trip Advisor about your hotel, some people whinge about everything on holiday and always blame the hotels, its looks fab and were going to stay there ourselves next year, you will love the Cayo's its just so beautiful, try and go on the catamaran trip to Pillar beach that is out of this world and you snorkel at different spots on the way, take bread and banana from the hotel restaurant with you into the sea as the fish love it and come swarming round you to eat it and get your camera ready to take shots of them, have a wonderful time, wish we were going again this year, good luck. Others Google maps. www.tripadvisor.com you will see hundreds of comments. we have been to cuba in june twice and the weather is beautiful but often wet. we haven't stayed at the tryp, but have heard it's good! I've stayed in Tryp Cayo Coco in april 2004. I did not like it at all. The weather sucked because the wind was strong all the time so lifeguards didn't let anyone to swim in the sea, so everyone wanted to lie at the pool where was not enough chairs. Pool was nasty itself. Plus the waves brought alot of little jellyfishes out on the shoreline, they were hard to see but it did hurt if you step on one that was sill alive. Food was ok but not too good in the buffet, a la carte restaurants were fine. Disco was boring. Very few pple did dance at all (apart from entertainment crew who did a great job trying to cheer up pple). Totally i give this hotel 5 points out of 10, but i will never go back there or Cayo Coco at all, Varadero is much nicer. |
