i am so sorry for you it is summer here you know these ?s depend on where you live most people in Dallas are in the suburbs we do have deregulated electricity so u can choose but all rates are high 90% have high speed Internet ( 50% have multiple providers) Gas prices are some of the highest anywhere and are still rising conversely rent and homes are on the cheap side for a metropolis of this size
You only need to know one thing.

DON'T BECOME A DALLAS COWBOYS FAN!!!

GO FOR THE PHILADELPHIA EAGLES.
All answers are monthly charges....
High Speed Internet: $50
Electricity: $200/summer...$75/winter
Gas: Depends on appliances
Cable TV: $50
Phone: Get Vonage $29

You are going to have FUN!!!!!!!!! Dallas is great!
I live in Dallas. If you have a land line you can get cable and high speed Yahoo Internet through AT&T. Their is a number of electric companys, but stay away from TXU that raise rates often, but they will average your bill for a year. I don't know about gas , I have electric only.
Go to relocate.com and they will send you free information for every option and utility. They also have cost calculators to help you figure out other expenses and current gasoline pricing.
Lets see:
Internet : Comcast is the local cable provider. They have the fastest broadband connections, unless you invest big money in a T1. AT&T offers a pretty good DSL broadband connection (It's what I have). DSL is a little less per month than the cable, but if you want to bundle your services, Comcast is a good choice.
Electric: I use WPower, out of MIdland in west Texas. Great service, and better rates than TXU. (TXU sucks!)
Gas: Only one provider. Atmos Energy has the sole service in the area, unless you use propane / butane.
Cable / Satellite: Comcast for cable. Dish Network or Directv for satellite. Both are OK, and pricing for all three is about the same.
Phone: AT&T is the big provider. VOIP through your broadband connection (like Vonage ) is a good option. I have the AT&T VOIP, and it is OK until you need to call 911.
Be prepared, it gets hotter than the 7th level of hell down here. My electric bill for my 1600 sf house was $302.00 this month. Gas is about $2.90 a gallon, and public transportation is not as good as it is in other metropolitan areas.
