Can I pay for a hotel/motel with cash in the Dallas area? |
Travel Info Can I pay for a hotel/motel with cash in the Dallas area? Travel Tips You can pay cash in any area...but you will pay FIRST. Others You can pay for any hotel with cash but they are going to want a credit card for any damages that may happen to the room while occupied by you. They require you to pay in the "local" currency... "Black Gold", "Texas Tea"... You can pay cash at any hotel or motel in the United States, but most hotels/motels require a credit card number to hold the reservation. They don't charge you as long as you show up and pay for the room, but they usually have a 24-hour cancellation policy, so if something happens the day you're supposed to show up and you don't make it, they charge your credit card. If you're going to pay cash, be prepared to pay when you check in, and they won't let you do a quick check-out -- you'll have to go back to the desk in the morning so they can check and make sure you don't owe them any money for phone calls, pay-per-view movies, etc. With a hotel you might have to pay using a check card that is connected to your bank account, most hotels do not accept cash, they need some sort of collateral which is mostly a credit card with available credit of like $500 or more. Now a motel would be your best option, they might accept cash cost most motels are like small family owned and they can bend the rules a little bit. So if I were you, I would look for a motel. Good luck! I'm pretty sure cash is still an acceptable method of paying for a motel anywhere. Yes |
