Does anyone know why Mr. Freeze @ Six Flags Over Texas is closed? |
Travel Info It's been closed for a while now. My family and I have season passes and we went last Sunday. An employee there said that another ride in Florida with the same design (maybe same name) went up and didn't stop. He said it derailed straight into the air. I did a search online to try and find a story about it and couldn't find anything. So I was wondering if it's even true? Does anyone know anything about either one? Travel Tips As of June 2006, All Premier LIM Rides have endergone emergency inspection and are closed. This includes Mr. Freeze in St. Louis and Arlington, Texas. Gravity prevents the train from flying into the air at the end of the track.... so flying off teh track at th end of the run seems like an urban myth. Here is the details on what happened at the Chiller, which caused all premier rides to shut down, Mr Freeze is a premeir ride. On June 2, 2006, a wheel on the third car of the Robin train suffered a mechanical malfunction. While the specifics to what caused the malfunction are still unknown, it has been reported that the train came to a halt on the lowest part of the track (between the Cobra Roll and Zero-G roll) after the launch. Although the train was loaded, no one was seriously injured and all riders were evacuated. Currently, both sides are closed. Six flags has closed all Premier Rides attractions, except The Poltergiest at Fiesta Texas, due to the accident. |
