What kind of city is Gainesville TX ??

What's best about Gainesville??? It's not too far from anything but far enough to be out of the mess. I think the size of the city is excellent to offer less crime but plenty to do. Not a long drive to Dallas, Ft. Worth, Denton, Plano, Paris, or even over the border to OK. So anything you might want to 'do' isn't out of the question distance-wise. East Texas folk are some of the friendliest in the nation. Nobody can complain about East Texas weather!

I live here in Gainesville. There is absolutely nothing to do here, there is not even a movie theater. Unless you want to go to a redneck bar, you will have to drive a while to find a decent club. There are plenty of grocery stores.

Basically there are lots of old people and also lots of poor people. The drug problem here is kinda bad I would say due to the intersection of two major highways in town and the surrounding open country areas are good for meth labs. Weather for the most part is very hot and dry in the summer.

Winters have been pretty mild here lately. Gainesville High School ranked "Unacceptable." Jobs pay lower in Gainesville than they do in the Metroplex or suburbs. Move to Denton or Frisco or somewhere like that.
