What fun things are going on in Dallas this weekend? |
Travel Info I am headed up to Dallas tomorrow from SA with my hubby and want to know if there are any fun events to check out! Travel Tips How about the Farmers Market (plants, produce, all kinds of gifts), Reunion Tower (to see all of Dallas in an hour), Mockingbird Station (shops, restaurants), Deep Ellum (clubs) or the Galleria (shopping)? For other stuff, check out the listings on GuideLive. Source(s): http://www.dallasfarmersmarket.org/... http://www.dallascvb.com/visitors/listin... http://www.mockingbirdstation.com/... http://www.deepellumtx.com/ http://www.galleriadallas.com/ http://www.guidelive.com/feature/67/... Other Travel Tips I always like to go to the IMAX theater at the Science Museum at Fair Park, close to downtown Dallas. The parking is free, you don't have to pay for the museum to just go to the IMAX, but you do pay for the IMAX of course. But the museum is also excellent, and worth the price of admission. I believe they have a special exhibit on Einstein there now. Fair Park is the complex that holds the Cotton Bowl. (just feeling facetetious, ignore me!) Well there's going to be this, like, totally awesome Dance Dance Revolution fest at Nicklemania (offa Trinity Mills and Midway) Saturday evening, followed by a night of watching 3rd Season Reno 911 at my place. Sundays there's just these spifftastic clean-o-ramas, entailing exciting games like wash-the-dishes and where-do-these-damn-clothes-go... In slight seriousness, it depends on what you and your hubby are really into. If you're 'earthy' people, some the things mentioned by previous users may be your cup of tea, if you're motorheads you might want to check out a speedway or two, if you're slightly-nerdy-gothites (like, ahem, myself) you might want to connect with a game somewhere ensued by a night of weaving and moping your tail away at The Church (ala Lizard Lounge on Fridays and Saturdays) on Sunday night. There's also a plethora of haunted houses open for the season, but really, all that's going on this weekend are things that generally happen at venues in every other large city across the country. Sometimes you have a really kick *** weekend, chock full of events right up your alley, others, things are going on but they're just not "jivin'". |
