What is it to do in Dallas, Texas? |
Travel Info Im thinking of moving from Michigan to Dallas, Texas and I wanted to know if this is a good place to live and what is the best thing Dalllas has to offer their residents? Travel Tips LOTS of shopping and good restaurants. Still a relatively low cost of living comparted to many other metro areas. All of your expected big-city amenities, like pro sports, decent nightlife.. No state income tax. Many colleges and universities in the city or nearby. Drawbacks: City of Dallas government is an unorganized mess. Dallas schools are largely terrible. Summer heat is stifling. Traffic and lots of it. Others big city lots of fun heavy traffic southern men high crime It depends on what you do for a living, what you can afford, the type of people you want to be around, what activities you like to partake in, etc. Dallas has a little bit of everything, and there are some wonderful areas, but it's declining very, very fast. We're being overrun by illegal aliens, the state and local governments are highly corrupt, the overall politics are outrageous, and the economy here is very "boom/bust." We have oneof the largest population of singles (read: major meat market), significantly higher divorce rates, the 2nd highest concentration of lawyers next to Washington, DC, and the fastest growing population (illegal and otherwise) in the country. Think hard and do a LOT of research before coming to Texas. I've been here 12.5 years and can't WAIT to get out. If you like the southern attitudes and climates, but don't want the BS, you might want to consider New Mexico, Oklahoma, or Arkansas. Good luck! Check out all the weekend activites. There is more to do here that you can possibly imagine. Dallas is really strong for theater and music and shopping. Ft. Worth is strong for visual arts. www.guidelive.com If all you want to do is shop and eat out Dallas is a good place to live. If you want scenic beauty this place has none. Summers are misearable winters are very mild. you can come and live at the cedar springs area in uptown Dallas, at the Miramonte Villas |
