Travel Info Is dallas a city up there with la, chicago, ny and other cities like that? Travel Tips I lived in Dallas for 3 years and spent some time in Chicago and never been to LA and NYC. I definitely won't put it on the level of Chicago. It downtown is just a big office park so it's basically vacant at night and on the weekends. The museums are decent but Chicago's blow them away. Dallas DOES have some great shopping areas. The city has a certain flashy materialistic feel about it. I think Houston is the most comsopolitan city in Texas for what it's worth. Others Doubtful. definately not world atlas 2005 No it is much smaller no its Dallas Texas! Yea kinda like Dallas cowboys! what about them cowboys! footbball! yea I'm not entirely sure what you are asking. If you are talking about population, the answer is no. Dallas has a population of 1.2 million, ranking it the 9th largest in the nation; the Dallas metropolitan population is about 6 million. The other cities you mention are in the top three, with NY having around 8 million, L.A. having around 4 million, and Chicago having around 3 million. As far as the rest of the city goes, I would say that Dallas is comparable to other cities its size: We have traffic problems, pollution, crime (#1 in cities with a population over 1 million), poverty, and any other social woe you can think of that comes with living in a city. We also have Dealey Plaza (highly recommended if you ever visit). |
