Its just a little west of Dallas Texas... On the 4th of July Willie Nelson puts on a heck of a Celebration there in Fort Worth...
Fort Worth seems like it's got some pretty good stuff. It has a couple of excellent art museums; it has an arts district near downtown (when I was there in the summer we went to hear blues at a kinda cool-seeming old theater); it has a concert hall downtown with these outrageous huge cool-looking angels blowing huge yards-long gold trumpets that stick way out of the facade, several stories up. I don't know if it's better than Dallas or not -- I have lived in Dallas for several months but haven't gotten that much of a chance to visit Fort Worth. Still, I was there for a weekend this summer and it certainly looked like it had some good stuff going on.

P.S. Are you sure Willie's 4th of July is in Fort Worth?? It didn't used to be -- It used to be in Carl's Corner which is like 80 miles south of there.
Ft. Worth is about 30 miles west of Dallas and is about 10 times cooler. The people are a lot nicer and there is plenty to do. Willie's 4th of July picnic is held here in FW and it is always fun. What do you like to do? You can pretty much find something to do everyday here in FW.

That's a debate people who live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW) area have been having for years. Personally, I prefer Dallas. But both cities have lots of interesting things to see and do. I really hate the traffic in Ft. Worth in particular, and to me it's very hard to find your way around. But everyone who's spent any signifigant amount of time in the area seems to have a definate opinion on the subject. Either way, you will meet a lot of friendly people and have loads of fun.
It is just west of Dallas--30 or so miles. I don't think Fort Worth is necessarily better than Dallas. I've never found it more appealing.
