Travel Tips Also: - The Fort Worth Stock Yard (this is not just the old stock yard, it's a whole western-style family entertainment district made up of restautants and shops and the one and only " Billy's Bob of Texas" entertainment center). - Riding the train from Grapevine to the above , a fun ride about 15 miles( a recreation of an old Western frontier train complete with train robbers and lawmen engaging in shoot outs...with blanks, of course!) - While in Grapevine (between Dallas and Fort Worth, near the DFW Airport), visit historic downtown and the vinyards/wineries. Yes, we do make real wines in Texas! - Visit the Gaylord Texan family resort complex in Grapevine. It's a rather upscale but Western- style resort complex of hotel, shops and restaurants that's open to all,not just the hotel guests. The beauty is, all the "outdoor" areas are also under glass roofs, making them de-facto indoor space, protected from the weather and is totally air-conditioned. -World class museums in both Dallas and FW: The Dallas Museum of Arts, the Kimbell Art Museum, the Museum of Modern Arts (FW), the Amon Carter Museum of American Arts (lots of Remington work in there). Museum of Science and History in FW (very youth oriented and educational)... -Rodeos at the FW Stockyards and in Mesquite .
