Are there any good science related field trips in the Texas or Oklahoma area? |
Travel Info Okay. We're taking a group of kids in science club (about 25) somewhere nice. We already have Body Worlds, National Sea Shore, some bat cave and things like that. We're looking for something at the latest in June. The price limit depends. If we were going to Costa Rica or something it'd probably be $2500. Yet, not all of the kids can afford that. So we're looking maybe soemthing less than $100. Anyways, all ideas are welcome. We prefer something in Texas because of liabilty. Travel Tips Glen Rose, for the dinosaur aspect. Others I don't know how much this will help you but the following website is full of Texas activities. And if you can't find what your looking for here, you can email them and they may have some more ideas for you. I went on a feild trip to NASA in Houston when I was younger it was fun and had lots of activities we always took field trips to the science place in dallas when i was younger and that was enjoyable http://www.natureandscience.org/... Get in touch with Texas Instruments and see if you can get a tour. Houston to the NASA space center is pretty cool. Galveston is a great place to go to as well. The city was almost completely destroyed by a hurricane and the buildings that survived show the science of building a really tough house. Thousands of people just disappeared in this storm. They didn't know what kind of storm it was and had no way to predict it. You will also find Moody center a laboratory of plants and butterfly's. There is a fish aquarium there as well. Galveston is right down highway 45 from Houston. You can get go rates on rooms in Galveston but you need to start checking now! Good Luck |
