Travel Tips
Everyone knows about North Side and the Cattleyards. Historical and pretty well preserved western appearance. Site of the world's FIRST indoor rodeo. If ya go, be sure to get some of the world's best Tex-Mex at Joe T. Garcia's. On a Friday night you may have to wait in line for an hour, but it is worth it.

On the east side of Fort Worth is an area called Stop Six. It's not such a good area now, but it got its name from an interurban that ran from Fort Worth to Dallas, and this was Stop #6 on the route. Historical, but not much left of the original.

Handley, also on the east side as you go toward Arlington, was once an independent city of size and stature; but is now incorporated into Fort Worth.

The museum district is not necessarily historical, but well worth going. The Amon Carter Museum of Western Art has perhaps the most comprehensive collection of Russell and Remington anywhere, along with other great works; the Kimbell is world-renowned, and the Museum of Modern Art is worth your time, as is the Museum of Natural History, and the Cowgirl Museum.

There are other areas, but those are the ones I remember the best.

Others
On the south side there is the Fairmont historical district, which is the largest historic district West of the Mississippi River. Ryan Place is right next to Fairmont, and is also an historic district.
I used to live in Fairmont
