There are some shops and some restaurants. Nothing too exciting. I believe there is a Chilis......Well, have fun. Buy a book and read.
There is not alot to do, pretty much the normal for a large international airport. However, if you like people then there are plenty of those and most of them are very friendly. I work for the other airport in Dallas which is Dallas Love Field and I meet greet people all of the time. I try to always have a smile and something nice to say and I must say I have alot a new friends by doing this. By working for the feds most of us enjoy the traveling public and I am sure the folks at DFW are no different. Hope you stopover is a good one.
All the new, good stuff is in the D terminal-stores, nice restaurants, wine bar. Unless you fly into there, there isn't much else to see or do in the other terminals besides typical airport stores like bookstores, news stands, gift shops, food courts etc.
