Moving to Lewisville, TX....any recommendations for things to do/see???? |
Travel Info Serious Inquirees only please!!!!! I'm moving to Lewisville, TX in December '08. I was there once for a few days last year, but didn't have time to really see or do anything. Just wanted some recommendations of places to go/visit/see when I get there? Of course I'll be going to a Dallas Cowboys game (GO COWBOYS!!!)! But anything else exciting or fun? Any theme parks around? good museums? good restaurants/cafes/clubs/bars? what about Medievel Times (heard it was fun)? OR anything else for fun/education/relaxation/whate... Thank you in advance for your help!!!! All recommendations are appreciated!!!! Travel Tips You won't find a shortage of shops, movie theaters or great restaurants in Lewisville or anywhere in Dallas/Ft Worth and surrounding suburbs for that matter. I've listed a few things here to see and do: Circle R Ranch - Horseback trail rides, mechanical bulls, etc. Hawaiian Falls - water park Interskate- state of the art skating rink Sandy Lake Amusement Park Lewisville Fishing Barge- indoor fishing for the family, etc. Lewisville Lake Park Pier 121 Marina- boat rentals Vista Ridge Mall Stonebriar Mall (Frisco) Studio B - classes in theater production, etc. Main Event - bowl, billiards, laser tag, video arcades, glow in the dark golf and snack bar Sun Valley Aquatic Center - pool/picnic For me personally I like Ft Worth better than Dallas - it's safer too. You will be close enough to see Ft Worth/Grand Prairie/Arlington attractions and Dallas for that matter... Ft Worth/Arlington/Grand Prairie: Billy Bob's Texas Cowtown Coliseum Ft Worth Zoo (better than the Dallas Zoo) Sky Theatre Planetarium Ft Worth Botanic Garden Six Flags - Arlington Ft Worth Stockyards Texas Motor Speedway Hurricane Harbor - Arlington water park Lone Star Park - Grand Prairie horse racing Louis Tursaud's Palace of Wax - Grand Prairie Ripley's Believe it Or Not - Grand Prairie Medieval Times - Dallas Others dang, Bachelor pretty much covered it. Although I grew up in Lewisville, there really isn't much to do 'in' Lewisville exept live. You'll have to travel the 30 minutes or so to Dallas or Ft. Worth do really do and see anything. I have worked in Lewisville for the past ten years. I would strongly suggest you to not move to Lewisville. Lewisville is MAJORLY CONJESTED, and it doesn't look like they have any future plans to fix this. Also, there is a huge poverty stricken Hispanic population which attributes for a high crime rate. If you want a near by town with low crime and more shopping, arts, dining, and clubs, check out Frisco. |
