Moving to DFW Area?

I am considering relocating to the area for a job in Irving. I'm looking for a home/condo/townhome in the $150-$225K range. The only thing I hate is a long commute. Besides the airport, I've never been to the area before. Where are good places/zip codes to narrow my search?

You will find a great home in Irving for that money and Irving is relatively safe. (You may want to avoid the Loop 12 area south of Hwy. 183) However, there are nice places to live all over the city. Take some time to look around and decide. It really depends on what you like. In the older part of the city there are new homes next to 50+ yr old frame houses. In the northern part is Las Colinas and Valley Ranch with huge homes and luxury apartments. There is everything in between available also.

Irving is near DFW airport and right next to Dallas for all that Dallas has to offer. It is convienient to Ft. Worth and the mid-cities.

North Richland Hills for nice family neighborhoods in that price range.
You should be able to find something in Irving that would not be too far from your job. Try a search on Irving then look for real estate, or try to get a copy of a Dallas newspaper on Sunday.
Irving may have places that you would like.

Also look at Euless, Arlington, Bedford, Grapevine.
In the mid-west everything is far. You will travel long distances but you will also enjoy the speed with it. Think of Lake Dallas, Farmer's Branch, Carrollton and other sorrounding areas.
Check out North Irving and Valley Ranch area. Assuming you don't need schools for your kids. Also Addison isn't too far from Irving but I don't know what you could find in that price range. Coppell is also very close and has some nice smaller homes - pretty new town.
