What part of Forth Worth /Dallas TX is good area to live? |
Travel Info I am looking into buying a house there, any recommendations? Travel Tips I love the Arlington /Grand Prairie area. We are located in center of the "Metroplex". We have 4 local highways to get to( I-30, I-20, 360,820east) and 3 more highways u can get to in 15 minutes or less(183,121,114). We have tx rangers baseball. We will have Dallas Cowboys football in 2 yrs. Six Flags, and Hurricane Harbor(water park),Ripley's Believe it or not and Wax Muesum.Depending on traffic, u should get everywhere in 40 minutes or less. Wide variety of priced neighborhoods to easy living to luxury living. One bad part though,, there is no public transportation in Arlington. No buses.(yet) Source(s): lived here since '89 Other Travel Tips If you like a bit of land out in the open then Southlake or Keller. If you like the suburban areas, Watauga is quiet and reasonably priced. Hurst is nice but expensive and taxes suck. I would tell anyone anywhere to stay the eff out of the suburbs. A couple of urban neighborhoods in Dallas are up and coming--Bishop Arts District, Oak Cliff, and parts of Lakewood--and real estate there would be a good investment. Plus, the houses there tend to be funky and older rather than those horrible McMansions in the 'burbs. If you're less adventurous, you might look into Lake Highlands. It's more post-war houses with lots of families, and it's near White Rock Lake. Depends on your price range, your commute to work and if you're looking for particular school districts. Average home in the Metroplex is ranging in the $150K-$170K range. My wife and I live in downtown Dallas in a loft; we love the urban lifestyle, not to mention the 21% increase we've already attained in equity in our place in the last 18 months. If you're looking at location, check out the following areas but you'll be paying more: Uptown, Lakewood, Bishop Arts District, University Park, The Cedars and North Dallas. If you're considering the suburbs, there's Mesquite in the east... Frisco, Allen, Plano in the far north... Mansfield, Keller and South Grand Praire in the West... and nothing really in the south, unless you go way south to Waxahachie. Most of the other areas in Dallas are either very pricey (older neighborhoods) or not the neighborhoods you would want to live in. You might consider talking to a realtor (try www.thehomecircle.com, John Paul Valverde) and they will definitely focus on your needs and price... hope this helps... Plano, Frisco, McKinney & Allen are all suburbs of Dallas. I don't know what your price range is for a home, but there is a wide range up into the millions. All of these cities are convenient to schools, restaurants, nightlife, shopping, etc. Dallas is the best! I've lived here my entire life! :) |
