Which one is better to live in, San Antonio or the Dallas/Ft. Worth area? |
Travel Info Which one is better to live in, San Antonio or the Dallas/Ft. Worth area? Travel Tips San Antonio is in a much prettier part of Texas, and it's not nearly as crowded as the Dallas area. It's also more interesting in my book, and has a very rich history. Dallas is ok, but it's just a big city stuck out in the middle of the prairie. San Antonio is a place that was very important in the history of Texas, and also has a milder climate, so you don't have QUITE as many really hot days. Dallas is definitely SUBSTANTIALLY more polluted - when you take off from DFW, you go through this layer of brown gunk that's just not there in San Antonio. San Antonio also just has a different "feel" to me - slightly more relaxed. It's still a big city, though, so you won't lack for night life, if that's your thing. I lived in Texas for a long time (43 years); if I were going to move back, I'd definitely choose San Antonio over Dallas. Others Go for San Antonio http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/san_antonio... San Antonio it's cleaner and not overcrowded, plus the cost of living is lower. I agree with the above statements ... but it depends on what you're looking for: Driving: San Antonio (roads much easier to navigate) Shopping: Dallas Pollution: Dallas has the worst I've seen across the south Plus for Dallas: Part of the Metroplex (Fort Worth & Arlington), Texas Rangers, so great baseball, great football ... great all around sports. (San Antonio does have good basketball) I actually like the Fort Worth area better than Dallas. Cleaner. Cousins BBQ ... go for the Brisket. Amazing. San Antonio ... River Walk: shopping, dining, atmosphere. Loved it. So ... it just depends on what you want. Beter shopping, airport, housing values, and Better nightlife in Dallas! If you want to make money and meet more people that have their **** together, go to dallas. Personally, I like Dllas/Fort Worth, the cost of living here isa actually comparable to San Antonio. And the jobs here pay better than in San Antonio. But it all depends on what you want from a city. The cleanliness of the city will depend where you live, this goes for any city. But Dallas/Fort Worth does have a better night life, housing and entertainment. There are also more for families to do in DFW, than in SA. it depends san antonio folks are freindlier than dallasites. but dallas ft worth area has tons of jobs and a good cost of living that is not too high. dallas is great for white collar workers. obviously it is a bigger area so there are many things to do. but i'm from austin which is close to san antonio, and i now live in dallas, and i tell you i miss austin a lot. |
