Sites to see in Dallas? |
Travel Info I get my 2 weeks off from Iraq next week. I am planning on spending a few days up in Dallas. What is there for am 2 year old my wife and I to go do and see? Travel Tips There is lots of stuff depending on what you like and where you want to go. In downtown Dallas, the aquarium is really nice and there are several art museums in the downtown area, there is the 6th Floor Museum which is all about the Kennedy assasination and the zoo is good. Fort Worth has an even nicer zoo, a great downtown shopping area, The Ft. Worth Stockyards Historical District, The National Cowgirl Hall of Fame and several museums. If you like sports, The Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars are both playing at the American Airlines Center near downtown Dallas and the Texas Rangers are playing in Arlington (Rangers games are pretty economical tickets start at about $5.00). Also in Arlington is Six Flags which is open on weekends right now. There are lots of shopping areas around the Metroplex and lots of lakes and parks also. Source(s): 15 years of living in D/FW area Other Travel Tips Go shopping at the Galleria, go to the Dallas Aquarium, go walk and shop at the West End - JFK & Holocaust museums are there but may be too much for your 2 year old. There is also Deep Ellum but also may be too much for a child. Certainly a trip to see Dealy Plaza, where JFK was assainated, must be made. The 6th floor museum is worth the price. I really enjoyed the Science Museum at Fair Park, where the Cotton Bowl is. The Galleria in N. Dallas is just a glorified and big shopping center; but it's something to do, but that's about all it is. Six Flags in Texas is near the airport, and Ripley's Believe it or Not is kinda nice. I don't know what a two year old would like, probably just a trip to a sandbox at Fair Park with it's ponds and pleasant grounds would be enough for him/her. |
