Hey is Fort Worth bigger then Austin? |
Travel Info Hey is Fort Worth bigger then Austin? Travel Tips Population questions tend to be tough; (it's been 7 years since the last US census and since then we've only had estimates) As someone said earlier, Ft. Worth is a part of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metropolitan Area (the Metroplex as they call it, for some reason) which encompasses about 6 million people. Compare that to the Austin/Round Rock Metropolitan area which has a population of around 1.5 million people. Specifically though, Fort Worth (proper) has a population of about 630,000 whereas Austin (proper) has a population of about 720,000. In a way though, the cities slightly resemble each other, especially in the downtown areas which have a small town feel in the middle of towering buildings. Hope that helps a bit. Others No, Austin is larger and has more people now. However Ft. Worth can claim part of the "metroplex." nope. austin has around 2,000,000 while fort worth only has 1,000,000 (more or less) no austin is larger in popuation and land mass but not by much so there mere equals, no big difference. no, but it's connected to arlington and dallas...so it's a "metroplex." you can get more in ft. worth because it's closer to ther large cities. but...i like austin. well...i like fort worth too. Austin does not have 2 million people; only Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio have more than 1 million, and Austin and Ft. Worth both have about half a million inside the city limits. The Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex probably has over 3 million people. I beleive Austin is bigger population wise. I know they have a lot more wind bags bags there. |
