Travel Info I am moving to dallas and I am looking at the Skillman area for an apartment. I found one that looks really nice and within my price range but I am concerned about the safety. Can anyone tell me anything about 635 and skillman? How is the area, schools? any input will be a HUGE help! Travel Tips Used to be a decent area, but has gone downhill; I've had 2 friends who moved out recently due to what goes on at night. Next time you look at a map, look at this intersection (I-75 and 635) and make a boundary around it using these streets. Forest is your south boundary, Beltline is your north boundary, Hillcrest is your west boundary Jupiter your east boundary; all that area is about the same. Depending on your job and your budget, you may be able to find something better closer to downtown; it's more centralized. Sorry, hope this helps. Others If you don't mind a few murders occurring around you, then that is the place to live. We have a number of freeways here in Dallas and while 635 used to be one of the nicer freeways it is no longer. Apartments in the Skillman/Abrams area keep changing ownership, names, etc. Personally, I would look a bit further north... |
