Visiting Dallas/Irving Area....What places should I hit while there? |
Travel Info I will be in the Dallas/Irving area May 26-30 and I want to see as much as possible. I have friends there and I know they will be trying to take me to places they think I should visit, but I would like to have an idea of places I know I will enjoy. I have tried to find a good website on here of the area, but no luck so far. I am very excited since this will be my first trip there!!! I love to shop, eat, and just see nice things. So if anyone have any good suggestion or know a website that I could get some ideas from I would really be grateful. Thanks yall and have a blessed week!!! da bsugar Travel Tips Checkout guidelive.com for events at that time. http://www.abocas.com/ mastergrill.com Others Find out when the next Friday Nights at the Dallas Museaum of Art is in Downtown Dallas (those are always fun because they have live music playing and you can look at all the art). Mavs games area always so much fun Texas Rangers games are starting up again. You can get decent seats for like 5 dollars so thats cheap and fun. And go on dollar hot dog day. Six Flags and Hurricane Harbor should be open by then. For historical purposes or just morbid curiosity you could visit the Sixth Floor Musuem and find out more about JFK's assasination. Deep Ellum near downtown has a lot of clubs playing live music. It's quite a scene. Ride up to the top of Reunion Tower for drinks and a spectacular revolving view of Dallas! Lots of museums at Fair Park. There's also Six Flags and lots of great malls. Go to www.guidelive.com. Shopping: Galleria and Northpark Mall Eating: Check on restaraunt row area in Addison and Dallas. Pappadeux is good has great Creole/ Cajun food. Check out the Brazilian restaraunts as well. Clubs: Stay to the downtown area. There are some good clubs in North dallas but it is hit or miss as to if the club is banging on a particular night. Club Seven is hot. Blue is alright, Purgatory is a good one. there are several museums in the dallas/ft worth area. just google and see what exhibits are going on during may. have fun! If you are visiting Irving and you like amusement parks you won't be that far from Six Flags or Ft. Worth for that matter. You can visit Ripley's Believe it or Not and the Wax Museum together. As for shopping or restaurants there is an abundancy of them. Regardless of where you are in Dallas or the suburbs there are so many it can be difficult which one to pick from... Go to the Grapevine mall near the west end of I-635. It is the best. There is one place I highly recommend called Fossi Rim. It is a wild animal sanctuary. You drive through and the animals actually will walk right up to your car for you to feed. It is an amazing place. Have fun while your here. |
