Grande Prairie, Texas....to bus it or drive it? |
Travel Info Greetings! I have tickets to a concert at the Nokia Theater and already spent $200 just on tickets. Flying would make this too expensive. I could bus it from Monterrey Mexico to Dallas ($50 dollars) - can I rent a car at the Dallas Bus Station? Whats the nearest car rental agency? Perhaps I should just drive but that would equate to 842 km or 523 miles one way!! I'm guessing 10 and a half hours? I have to work on Monday morning and the concert is Saturday at 8 pm. I need someone who can decide what the best option is!!! What would you do in this case? Travel Tips No car rental places at the bus station and the bus station in dallas is a hell hole. I would drive it if I were you if you can't afford flight. Long walk to AAC from Greyhound Bus Station. Others bus it!! I live in gp, and one thing about dallas is that rent-a-car places are scattered all over the place. The closest place to rent a car that I know of is in Irving which is just north of GP. There is an enterprise there. I would really re-consider going by air. You will save yourself TIME. Financially, if there is no other way then just take a bus to the border. Then fly soutwest airlines from mcallen to san antonio/houston, then take the other part to dallas or if possible just go one way. The whole point of the concert is that you enjoy it, I would hate going to the concert and having to worry about my bus trip again the next day. The bad thing about GP is that we don't have a city bus line. So, you really do have to rent a car to get around and there is no hotel built near Nokia yet within walking distance. On main street you will find motels and hotels near Nokia, I recommend the Howard Johnson, its pretty cheap and very well conditioned. You may also consider going to one of my favorite places, Lone Star Park, which is right next to Nokia and wagering on horses, perhaps you can win yourself fancy plane tickets, if you do, then youd really have a story to tell back in Monterrey! Good luck |
