Anyone from the Bay Area in now in Dallas? Do you like Dallas? |
Travel Info considering making the move to Dallas from San Francisco Bay Area. Want feedback from others that have done the same. Travel Tips The best advice I have it to come down to Dallas, if you're able, to see what we have to offer. You'll get a variety of answers on the internet, and answers are peoples opinion and not fact. For instance, many people say there isn't any natural beauty in Dallas, but living here all my life, I like the beauty of camping and getting away from the city sometimes, so the Texas Hill Country, is something I like. But living in Dallas is nice, because you don' t have to worry about earthquakes in Texas. And I wouldn't like to live in San Francisco, because there are parts that aren't even on solid ground, but compacted debris and sand that they pushed in to the bay, and built on after one of the quakes in the early part of last century, living on or near ground that isn't safe is a city I wouldn't want to live in, but that's my opinion, so you really have to do research or visit a city before moving instead of relying on the opinion of others. Also, would you want to continue to live in a city that has a history of burning, when earthquakes do happen, I know this hasn't happend in quite a while, but sometimes history has a funny way of repeating it self. For Instance you think after Galveston got destroyed in the early 1910's, that New Orleans would of taken precautions, but they didn't, and look what happend to it. Others wow crazy i grew up in the bayarea till i was 15 then moved to dallas now im in wi but wild i liked dallas to much traffic Kerwin, Although I'm not originally from the Bay Area, I have traveled there many times for business purposes. I was actually born in Chicago and relocated to Dallas 6 years ago. Having knowledge of both the Bay Area and Dallas I can honestly tell you that the Bay Area has much more to offer. I wouldn't discourage anyone from relocating if it brought opportunity, however, I wouldn't leave the Bay Area to go to Dallas if I was bored with it. Dallas has very hot summers which is different from the 50-60 degree weather at night in July in the Bay Area that I've experienced. It has its positives because you can swim more often, however, it pretty much stays in the 90s all night long. Dallas definitely lacks the culture and natural beauty that the Bay Area has to offer. The bodies of water here are scarce and not very impressive. You definitely won't find any sea lions playing king of the mountain at Pier 39, a sight from San Francisco I'll never forget, in Dallas. Dallas women are gorgeous. I've found them to not be of the most intelligent variety but they are great in the sales field...mostly pharmaceuticals. You've got a mix between metrosexuals and bubbas down here. There are those that hang on too strongly to their Texas pride and those that just enjoy being an American. There are a large amount of Fortune 500 companies down here so there's a lot of opportunity in the business world. Other than that, there's nothing exceptionally special about Dallas that you wouldn't be able to find and more in another medium-sized city. I'd definitely stick with the Bay Area unless you have a job offer that you can't refuse. i am in the tampa bay area and was considering moving to springtown texas which is right outside of dallas. 1 hour from the air port. i loved the area. i am going back for another visit. i did not move because my house never sold in florida. i have a good realtor out there if you need one. message me back and let me know |
