Travel Info Any weekend place around dallas tx at a distance not more than 2 hr drive? Travel Tips Lake Texoma http://www.laketexoma.com/ Ft Worth Stockyards is a cool day trip http://www.fortworthstockyards.org/... Others Dallas IS the weekend getaway place. :-) Okay, best I can come up with: I'm not sure when it is, but the Azalea Trail in Tyler isn't horrible, if you're gardening fans. I'm not, personally, and it baffles me that that's the "big event" in Tyler, and people actually take the trouble to drive there to get to it. If you like antiquing, historical homesteads, and anything that can be described as "quaint", look into staying at a B&B in Jacksonville, TX. If you like shopping in a semi-flea-market place, go to the First Monday Trade Days in Canton. It never fails to amaze me the absolute lack of anything we have in East Texas that is actually interesting. And I can't really explain why I love it here, but I do. Frisco, about half an hour from Dallas. There's TONS of nice restaraunts, hotels, shopping areas, etc. It's not very crowded, the traffic is rarely bad, and the people are uberly nice. i wouldn't recommend frisco. especially right now. it'll take you an hour to get through town with construction. i would just stick to dallas. the nascher sculpture garden is amazing if you're into that. and there's plenty of stuff to do. if you're going to be in town the weekend of mother's day i would check out taste of addison. http://www.addisontexas.net/ Granbury texas is nice. Old time square & plenty of antique shops. And I love lake Granbury, but watch out for the stumps. The water is still a bit muddy from the floods, but it is clearing up. go to arington tx you got six flags huracain harbor down to dallas is nice uptown also is very nice in dallas fortworth stock yards irving has the best resturants in the dallas area los colinas has a place called mustange something great foodlike awsome awsome food |
