Can you tell me the pros and cons of living in Mansfield, Texas? |
Travel Info We will be working in Arlington, and we have school-aged children. I keep reading mixed reviews on Mansfield. Is there a better area around Arlington that you would consider for raising a family? Travel Tips Hmmm, the only problem I would see to living in Mansfield would be it's still attached to the "big city life" attached to Arlington, and the fact it's rapidly growing. People who get tired of Arlington but don't wanna separate themselves from it flee to Mansfield. If you're looking to not be in Arlington but close enough to it, there's Forest Hill and Everman, and Grand Prairie (which is just as large as Arlington, however.) The mid-cities (Hurst, Euless, Bedford) and Grapevine would probably be a bit far removed; I live in Arlington and commute 18 miles one way to Bedford for work, and I don't particularly like it. Other than that, east Fort Worth is the only other option, but I would personally rather live in Mansfield. Others Pro: Good neigborhood overall, great schools. Con: Typical place to get hit by tornado... move further east, don't have to worry about that in Dallas areas. I actually use to live in Mansfield for 8 years, I can tell you the cons because i use to live on the ghetto side just don't go to the west side near West Broad Street it is a very poor side. I haven't been there in a long time but i hear it is booming in growth. I enjoyed living there Erma Nash and Mary Orr are good schools i don't know about now though. |
