What city near Fort Worth is the best to raise children? |
Travel Info I'll be getting married in 4 months and we want to move to Tx, but not sure what suburb/city is good to start a family. We want to leave Chicago behind. Travel Tips Keller, Watagua, and Colleyville are all close to Fort worth only about 15-30 Minutes depending on traffic, but are about 30-45 minutes away from Dallas depending on traffic and how you go to get there. Keller is by far the best choice, with houses that arent to expensive. Most from $250,000. Others One of the nicest cities near Ft. Worth that has great schools is: Keller. I, myself would love to leave Chicago behind and go to Amarillo, Texas. I asked a couple questions on here about the best places in Texas, and Amarillo came up a lot. Check out my questions about this subject! fort worth has it's own individual neighborhoods....you can easily stay within fort worth and still find a nice place to raise kids. i recomend the Tanglewood area, Mistletoe Heights, and the South Hills neighborhood. The best high school is Pascal, the best middle school is McLean, and the best elementary schools are tanglewood and lily b clayton. my advice....choose an established area. do NOT try to get the most house for your money. choose the QUALITY house in the best neighborhood. the real estate market in texas is not a money maker, and you can really lose out if you try and buy in one of these cookie cutter cheap "put it up over night" neighborhoods. you are safer looking at historic homes, and neighborhoods like south hills...built in the 50's but very desired...so the turnover is minimal. these areas won't go bad over night. I'm not too familiar with Chicago, but you don't want to live in Ft. Worth. If there's a job, or family waiting, then it's cool. Dallas side of DFW is much better than FW. If you are moving to FW, not Dallas, then look at northern suburbs. Watauga, Keller, Colleyville. Flower Mound and Coppell are good, but closer to Dallas. (Dallas and FW are about 30, 40 minutes apart, although it's all suburbia in-between) I live in Dallas. Arlington, Texas. You'll love it. |
