Anything to do in Longview TX in Early June? |
Travel Info I will be in Longview for business from Sunday June 10th through Wednesday June 13th. So I have potentially 3 nights to do stuff, have dinner, drinks, whatever. I am going with a colleague who's pretty fun. Can anyone recommend a nicer place to eat (something better than Applebee's)? Travel Tips Hm. In early June, you'll want to do things inside. It gets pretty hot here by then. A great place to eat (and really has the "atmosphere" of East Texas) is the Texas Roadhouse on Loop 281. It's a favorite place here, so make reservations. Another great place is Papacita's Mexican Restaurant. They have the absolute best Mexian food in East Texas, and it's a pretty nice restaurant as well. It's located by Target across from the mall. Honestly, I wouldn't plan the mall as one of your tourist destinations. It's ok, but I wouldn't plan for more than an hour and a half there. There's some great golf courses here... Downtown's pretty nice... or you could drive by Neil McCoy's house on George Ritchey Rd. in Spring Hill. :-P The Rio is open as well on the Loop and Spur 63, they're very famous. Hope that helps you out! Have a great time here! Source(s): Lived in Longview all m'life. Other Travel Tips Check out this web site http://www.tripadvisor.com/ It has information on everything you will need for a trip anywhere!! If you can't find the answers you want you can post a question (just like on Yahoo Answers) in the forum area of the town/city you are interested in. You have a much better chance of getting a "local" person responding to you with all sorts of great info. You can even ask someone to suggest a complete itinerary for you for a trip!! Honestly, Longview doesn't have too many "nice" restaurants. My husband likes "Johnny Cace's" seafood. If you like country music go to the Rio Palm Isle. There is dancing and popular singers. Longview is a nice, east Texas town with lots of friendly people and rednecks. Browse the website: visitlongviewtexas.com Longview is a nice city, but there's not too much to do. My husband was born and raised in Longview. Texas Roadhouse is very good, but call ahead for reservations or you might wait an hour for a table. Ryan's is also good and less expensive than Roadhouse. Do not go to Chili's. There is also an Olive Garden than is nice but more expensive than Ryan's. There is a mall not far from Ryan's. I heard the Rio closed up; if it re-opened, I was not aware of it. Johnny Cace's is good; it's on Hwy. 80. |
