I need to find... in Lewisville(Fortworth), Texas..? |
Travel Info Im moving to Lewisville/Fortworth for the summer.. I need to find a great Christian church.. one with an active youth group.. any suggestions? I could also use a mall.. Whats the weather like, during the summer? should i be packing shorts and skirts?? I heard its a little humid. ..What else is there to really DO out there? is it boring, or is there a lot going on?? Where would you recommend for a part time-summer job? Somebody told me there are a lot of ihop's and wal-marts.. Thanks for the help!! Travel Tips Lewisville is a great area! A few good churches in the area: http://www.lakelandbaptist.org/... http://www.dentonbible.org/ (has an incredible youth program!) http://www.thechurchofcorinth.org/... The mall in Lewisville is not the best in DFW, but it is a good mall. The website with a list of stores: http://www.vistaridgemall.com/ My favorite mall close to Lewisville: http://www.shopstonebriar.com/html/index... Summer weather: HOT. HUMID (more than just a little). Summer lasts from April to early November. Here are the averages: http://www.weather.com/weather/wxclimato... There is a lot to do here. When driving out of Dallas, you can't tell where it stops and other cities begin all the way to Lewisville. There are 2 colleges just up the road in Denton (about 10-15 minutes)--University of North Texas & Texas Woman's University (not just for women anymore!). SO there are always something going on up there. Lewisville is also between Grapevine and Frisco--both have lots of stuff to do! And there are no more IHOP's or Wal marts' than any other town in America!! Good luck and welcome to the area! Source(s): Lewisville local Other Travel Tips There is a very good Pentecostal church in Lewisville; check it out. A good mall is a few miles west; the Grapevine Mills mall. It's just north of the west end of I-635. A good summer job would be at Six Flags in Arlington, if you have transportation. It does get hot there in the summer, but not unbearbly hot. 90 degrees around New York is probably worse than 100 degrees around Dallas. well its pretty hot in the middle of the summer so make sure you have alot of shorts and tanks, well it really depends on how old you are as in what there is to do. you could try for a job at a pool as a life guard but that also depends on your age, and yes we are full of both.... have fun out here and good luck lived here for all 21 years of my life Fellowship in Grapevine is probably the church you're looking for. It's a great bible church and the Pastor, Ed Young is phenomenal. It holds close to 4,000 per service and the youth group is quite large. :-) It's right off of 121 which runs between Lewisville and Grapevine, only about 15 min away. As for malls, you're in luck. You'll be right around the corner from Vista Ridge mall. About 15 up 121 and you're at the shopping mecca perhaps of the USA where just about any store you can think of is there. 10 min south, across from the Fellowship church is Grapevine Mills mall, a Mills outlet mall. As for part time jobs, retail is probably a good bet. Restaurants are good as are some mall stuff if you're looking for that type of position. As for weather, HOT! Not too humid, but it's hot. Many years we'll have 30+ days > 95 degrees. Hope that helps! Prestonwood Baptist Church on Midway/Park in Plano is the best place for praise and worship. The weather right now is very unusual, we are getting an inordinate amount of rain which is causing us to be cooler than normal by the time you get here we should be in our normal 95-100 degrees. It's boring if you sit in the house and do nothing, we have major sports teams out here. Go Ranger(last place), Cowboys will be practicing when you get here. Plus we have great farm teams as well. Amusement parks and lakes, NASCAR too. Please it is anything but boring out here. Great part-time jobs are at Hawaii Falls in the Colony. |
