Travel Info Anyone know fastest drive to Pensicola Beach from Dallas, TX? Travel Tips I would take I-20 to Shreveport, then take I-49 down to I-10, then go east on I-10. That's probably the fastest route. When you get to Shreveport, take I-220 south, and it runs into I-49. It's a little less congested than I-20 through Shreveport. Others Sorry I got it backwards, but you can figure it out. My oldest son just recently went that way and he said there were no delays due to construction, but they were delayed once due to an accident. Wayne T is probably right about making your way to I-10 via I-20, which runs through Dallas. However, you may be better off connecting with I-10 further east than its intersection with I-49. There is a lot of construction on I-10 in the New Orleans area and there may be similar problems in Baton Rouge. Take I-20 east from Dallas to I-55. Go south on I-55 to to I-12 (in Louisiana). Take I-12 east to I-10, then go east on I-10 to Pensacola. Look on an Interstate highway map and it will be clear. Hope you have a good trip! If you take I-49 from Shreveport, do not go to New Orleans; I-12 completely misses NO. Get on I-12 at Baton Rouge, and it runs back into I-10 a little way northeast of NO. Taking I-55 will be a lot further because it goes nearly straight south from Jackson; I-49 is more of an angle southeast from Shreveport. 1 Turn right on I 110 Northbound 1.0 mi. 2 Freeway ends, bear left taking the ramp to Mobile/I 10 Westbound 1.9 mi. 3 Continue, name changes to Hammond/Baton Rouge/I 12 Westbound (EXIT 267B) 161.6 mi. 4 Freeways merge and become I-10 Westbound 85.9 mi. 5 Exit right following the sign Opelousas/I 49 Northbound/US 167 Northbound (EXIT 103B) 55.8 mi. 6 Freeway ends, bear left taking the ramp to Dallas/I 20 Westbound 206.7 mi. 7 Freeways merge and become I-20 Westbound 0.8 mi. 8 Freeway forks, keep right to Dallas/US 80 Westbound (EXIT 499A) 153.7 mi. 9 Freeways merge and become I 30 Westbound/US 67 Southbound/US 80 Westbound 23.2 mi. 10 Exit right following the sign Sherman/I 45 Southbound/US 75 Northbound (EXIT 47B) 6.0 mi. 11 Ramp forks, keep right to Sherman/US 75 Northbound 0.2 mi. 12 Ramp forks, keep left to Main St Westbound/Elm St 0.3 mi. 13 Ramp forks, keep left to Main St Westbound 0.2 mi. 14 Arrive at your destination http://www.maps.com/drivesolonow.aspx?na... |
