I'm an International student from Dublin Ireland, I've been in Dallas Texas for the past two years.? |
Travel Info I would love to meet other International students, or Irish people here in Dallas? or does anyone know any Irish organisations or clubs in Dallas area?? Travel Tips I don't know anyone Irish but I am a teacher. I teach English as a Second Language. All my students are international. I'll ask them about some kind of clubs. Others so do you have a "GREEN" card? check out the clubs down in lemmon-oak lawn area. Lots of irish folks at a place called Mother Blues club I would guess you could go into any bar or liquor store. I love cliches!!! If you're old enough to drink I would suggest the Londoner or the London Tavern, they are both owned by the same Brit. Lots of people from the U.K. go there to watch football matches. The Scots, Irish and Brits (never met any Welsh) all seem to get along there. There's also Blarney Stone, The Old Monk, Trinity Hall, The Dubliner and Tipperary Inn. Pick up a Dallas Observer (they're free). They have a lot of listings for different groups. The website is for an Irish dance group in Dallas. http://irishdance.dragonseye.com/... I know there are several groups (mostly Scots) who meet up at Trinity Hall Irish Pub to watch football (your kind not ours). I know there's a Dallas & North Texas Brit Club on Meetup.com, you might want to try making an Irish club and see who you can get. There's a fairly large Irish festival every year (in March) that would be a good place to find other Irish. If you happen to be into Celtic/Irish traditional music there are several clubs. Chances are that once you find one longtime resident of Dallas who is also Irish, you'll find the rest. You may want to see if there's a British Women's Association in Dallas. |
