Family Activity's in DFW, TX area? |
Travel Info I'm looking for something to take my kids too (4yrs old, 2yrs old and 1 yr old) We've been to the dallas, TX Zoo..not very impressed by that. What other fun family things is there to do? Travel Tips DFW Metro Kids have a lot of activites: Beth's Little Horse Farm Bonus.com Amon Carter Museum Creative Arts Theater Contemporary Dance Ft. Worth The Cowtown Coliseum Dallas Museum of Natural History Dallas Puppet Theater Ft. Worth Cattleman's Museum Jubilee Theatre Kid-e-TV The Kimbell Art Museum Eddleman McFarland House Mesquite Championship Rodeo Modern Art Museum of Ft. Worth NRH2O Water Park The Science Place & IMAX theater Six Flags The Sixth Floor Museum Steam Railroad Museum Tarantula Steam Train Texas Parks http://dfwmetro.org/kidslinks.htm... Also: Pioneer Plaza Cattle Drive A growing number of bronze, larger-than-life-size steers and their cowboy escorts moo've along Pioneer Plaza - adjacent to the Dallas Convention Center. This bronze cattle drive is located on the actual Shawnee Trail drive of the 1850s - and is the largest bronze monument of its kind in the world. Downtown, Young & Griffin Streets Super Model Train The U.S.' largest permanent model train display is in Dallas, and happily, it.s in the lobby of Children's Medical Center of Dallas. Eight trains run simultaneously at this free exhibit. Children's Medical Center has a small fee for parking. 1935 Motor Street, between Stemmons Frwy. and Harry Hines Blvd., 214-640-2000 Source(s): http://dfwmetro.org/kidslinks.htm... http://www.dallascvb.com/visitors/50free... Other Travel Tips Go to a Ranger game - Arlington Go to Six Flags / Wet 'n' Wild - Arlington There are many nice parks in the area and I hear NRH20 is a nice family water park. The Dallas Children's Theater The playroom in the Dallas Museum of Art Honestly, 1 and 2 year olds are just as happy playing in the backyard inflatable pool!! Check out guidelive.com. They have everything you can think of including festivals that are in town, plays, shows etc. I think you mean activities, not "activity's." There are rides for young children at the fair grounds just east of downtown Dallas. We took our kids there when they were very young. Dallas Zoo isn't impressive, I agree. (The kids section used to be much better.) For your two youger kids, I wouldn't suggest any theater. Your four-year-old might like Dallas Children's Theater, and the Dallas Public Libraries have free programs fairly regularly. Some are terrible, some have been great. |
