Best suburbs outside of Dallas to live in? |
Travel Info My wife and I are moving to Dallas. I will be working downtown, but we want to live in the suburbs with our kids. What areas do you recommend? I would really like to keep the commute under 30 minutes, so Plano and Richardson seem too far away. Where else could we live? Travel Tips University Park would be the best, but its pricey. Others Honestly... I would check ONE thing... The Graduations rate at the high schools. That's it. the traffic is rediculous in plano. lewisville and flower mound are nice. and of course there's always highland park. I would suggest living in HEB (Hurst, Euless, Bedford). It is a very nice area. Your close enough to everything you want, yet are far enough away that you don't feel like you are in the big city. Garland isn't too bad. I lived there for 13 years. It just all depends on how big of an area you want to live in. Unless you can afford to live in Highland Park (multi million dollar homes), Plano is probably as close as I would want to live to the city limits. The lake highlands area used to be a nice area, until they moved in some public housing units around there, now its all criminals and gang members. Really it depends on if you have kids or not. If you all dont have kids, then you could get a pretty cool condo near downtown. However, if you have kids, I wouldnt let them go to any of the dallas schools. My choices would be this. 1. Highland Village out on Lake Lewisville 2. Frisco 3 The Rockwall area out by Lake Ray hubbard 4. Plano. (west area, not plano east) 5. The valley ranch/ Coppell area. Out of all of those Plano is probably the closest to downtown My fantastic brain |
