How's dallas texas? |
Travel Info i'm going to dallas texas in a couple days,so i'm trying to fiind people's opinin about the place and where's some god houses. Travel Tips weather this time of year is hot so bring plentyof shorts and tshirts and sandals. Housing is relatively inexpensive , of course, depending on where you stay...lakewood is nice. There are fairly decent suburbs like Plano, Richardson, Carrollton. Expensive areas include downtown and Park Cities. As far as food goes you cannot get a bad mexican food lunch or dinner there. There are nice museums like the nasher sculpture center, Dallas Museum of Art, Fair Park is art deco style and interesting or drive a little further to Fort Worth and visit the museum of modern art in Fort worth just the architecture of the building is beautiful, the science museum and planetarium in Fort worth is nice as well, and at fair park in dallas there is the science place and the dallas aquarium as well as an aquarium in downtown dallas near Hard rock cafe , I believe. A good Mall is North Park mallfor shopping located off Central Express way. If you like to walk, run, bicycle or canoe then White Rock lake is located basically in the heart of Dallas or you can jog the Katy Trailnear Turtle Creek area and hike all the way up to the famous Coors billboard with a running waterfal and a high point to view Dallas from abovel!!Deep Ellum has some good live entertainment and cafes plus Knox street has some cute places to eat like The Old Monk,, a british pub with pretty decent food and ales. Hope this helps!! Others Lots of God houses since we are in the bible belt. Oh!!! God don't go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess it all depends on what part you are going to,But up near Baylor University...it's a sight for soar eyes! It is horrbible....read my question I had asked about Dallas.Leave a respond so that I can see you got the message ok!Thanks I love Dallas. It is a great place to live. For housing, go to the suburbs on the North side of town. I recommend Addison, Richardson, Plano or Frisco. My favorite story to describe Dallas. One of my dad's coworkers was tranferred from San Francisco to Dallas. He arrived before his wife and when he met her at DFW airport she took one look out the windows and said she won't move to Dallas because it's so ugly. She promptly hopped on a plane back to San Francisco. He had to fly back and forth to San Fran to see his wife and kids while he stayed in Dallas. Eventually he moved back. Watch the movie Giant with Elizabeth Taylor and Rock Hudson. It was filmed in Texas. Truthfully it's not that bad. People are nice and the BBQ is yummy. The summers are brutally hot and humid. Plano has homes that all look the same, great schools and no scenary, Far North Dallas is good and you're in the Richardson school district. Highland Park and University Park are real nice, but cost more. Lakewood is cool and has old homes and trees. Parts of Oak Cliff are very nice and have trees, cool old unique homes and even hills! Lived in big D for 34 years and happy I don't anymore. I do miss Austin though... Dallas is a place to work and save money then travel, because dallas is boring and got nothing to offer for tourist anyway, and remember that summer is killing, but winter is great, boring boring boring boring! |
