Fun in Fort Worth, Texas?

Travel Info
I'm new to the town, and my boyfriend will be moving down here next month, we are kinda like "new age hippies" and looking for somthing fun to do. Does anybody know any good hang out / danching / shows / museums?

Travel Tips
Casa Manana is a theatre at University and Lancaster (bout a mile north of 30 on University). The theatre company holds performances there, and at the Bass Hall downtown.

Casa is also on the border of the city's Cultural District, which contains the FW Museum of Science and History, the Kimball Art Museum, and the modern art museum (known simply as "the Modern".)

South of casa on University are the city's botanic gardens. Beautiful, and free, although some exhibits charge a small fee. If you go, pay to go through the Japanese gardens. an interesting exhibit of a Japanese meditation garden, complete with koi....MASSIVE koi. A pair of "new-age hippies" should love it.

Further south on University (south of 30, about half a mile) is the zoo that was mentioned earlier. I can't comment on this, as I haven't been in quite some time. Also south, almost across the street from the zoo, is the Log Cabin Village, a living history museum where you can learn more about pioneer life.

Downtown to the Bass Hall will also take you near Sundance Square. Not hard to find, just follow your ears. Plenty of bars, clubs, restaurants, and night spots.

Also downtown, make a point to visit the Water Gardens. The water gardens are on Commerce Street, near the Convention Center....a short walk from anywhere downtown. Great place, great fountains, worth a little time. Link to them says they are closed for rennovations, but they are back open.

I'll give you links to all below. Enjoy. Source(s): http://www.casamanana.org/

Other Travel Tips
Dallas has the Granada theatre (in Dallas) which has great live music... It is a good venue.
The zoo is a must. Downtown is fun. Good restaurants there. Check out what's going on at Bass Hall.
Ft. Worth has a great Art Museum with several Remington's and C.M. Russell paintings. The Stock Yards is a "don't miss."
The fort worth modern museum of art.... and the architecture is amazing! Hmmm new age hippies... you might like to visit vegetarian hare krishna temple in dallas... Kalajhandis( spelling?) ... I use to go there and get all the vegetarian buffet and eat ouside in the court yard of the temple...it was pretty cool. Fair park in Dallas has some cool art deco stuff. Believe it or not you can canoe on the trinity river in fort worth. Anything around Camp Bowie is cool and Sundance square is nice.
well, next year, there will be the stock show, which is always fun to go to.
