I am moving to the DFW area in the next year.....? |
Travel Info We are trying to find an area that is close to the city, but out in the country enough to have a few acres of land and trees. Does anyone have any recomendations on the best country areas aroud the DFW area? Thank you so much for your help!!! Travel Tips Flower Mound would be good. Others well heres the problem about that....dallas especially. the city is so huge in area that the closest place to, say downtown dallas, that fits that description quite possibly could be a 45 minute drive at least, throw in traffic, you've got yourself quite a commute. i live in addison, which is considered in the heart of north dallas, and during rush hour can take me upwards of 40 minutes to get towards downtown as it is. closest to dallas, try wylie, forney, sachse, murphy, mckinney area MAYBE, little elm, prosper might be a good bet...thats about all i can think of off the top of my head. my advice is to stay looking north of dallas, south of dallas is a little sketchy. dallas has a huge sprawl and its only getting bigger by the day! good luck! you'll love it here! lived in dallas my whole life azle weatherford springtown alvarado crowley burleson cleaburn haslet - all fw cedar hill midolothian lancaster saginaw wylie aubrey pilot point desoto-closer to dallas youre gonna have to drive a little ways no matter what if you want land! It's going to be about 45min-hour The best country areas would be east or northeast of Dallas, like maybe just outside the city limits of Wylie or east of Mesquite. You might could find a country place north of McKinney or near Princeton, but any other direction from McKinney, forget it. First of all, DFW is about 100 miles from east to West. We really cannot recommend a rural area unless we know where you will work. If you have to drive into Dallas or Fort Worth, you will have a long drive. But there are many areas around Denton, 30 minutes outside of Ft. Worth, 45 from Dallas. Cities include Sanger, Krum, Ponder, Corinth, Argyle. Argyle is a nice little town. |
