This is basically a quest for indians(coz dey will understand da guys situation in a better way dan most oders)

I have a cousin who is of marriageable age. But the prob here is dat he has two siblings n both got married to the partners of their choice. His parents accepted this but now he feels that he should marry the girl his parents choose for him coz his bro n sis both chose their partners so it must be his parents wish to find a suitable girl for him. He doesnt have any gal on his mind currently but can wait for one to come.

so what should he do???? go wid da girl he likes or to keep his parents happy go for sumone dey choose for him

If your cousin doesn't mind, let him at least meet the girl who his parents like. And let them both at least get to know each other for sometime like for a few days by going out together and talking, or something like that . After this being done, if they both find each other acceptable enough for a strong committment, they can themselves decide on the possiblity of a marriaige. And if they don't, then they can break off at any point of time and go their separate ways just like in a normal relationship.
In this way, even their parents will be happy no matter what the outcome, because they will realize that their children have at least tried their best to fulfull the wish about their parents selection of an eligible marraige partner.
But please tell you cousin, not to reject his parents proposal outrightly without even meeting the girl because they will feel very sad and betrayed and may even get the feeling that maybe their son no longer has any regard for his parents and their feelings

I did not know that custom was still around. Most male Indians follow tradition. Have his parents met you and if not, why not, if you would like to be a candidate for marriage let your friend know.

Very Simple,let your cousin, first leave this to his parents choice. Cos he dont have anyone in his mind , so let him talk with that girl & if he wills ok ,then wat let him proceed or otherwise apply in matrimony website. There you can find plenty, So he & and his parents can both discuss and chose a right one.

Why this guy hasnt got a gal yet. He maybe conservative and did find a girl of his liking. So he hasnt found out for himself, the next alternative is to choose a girl whom his parents show. His parents will screen the girls based on their experience and the what they feel this guy requires. So he can select from the options his parents show him.

But first he should tell his parents atleast what he is looking for in his partner. A working woman, educated woman, etc...
