Anywhere in South delhi is good. Its generally safe if you have a private taxi/car. The new metro is great too. take the usual precautions. A great area is near the embassies chanakyapuri. hauz Khas is great too, lots of foreigners live there. Nice clean big streets. See http://newdelhi.net for some info. Dwarka is nice too.
