Delhi is the Capital of India. It is the centre of varoius cultures and is the centre of emerging economic power in world. It had been the capital of this country thru ages and was the destination of invadors from West and northwest. India was fragmented in variuos different states/kingdoms in 16th-19th century,but still any conquest to India wasnot over till Delhi was captured.

It is divided in two parts, New Delhi and Old Delhi. New Delhi is modern, constructed in 20th Century, mainly during British rule, and Old during Mughal Empire.

Places around Delhi can be explained in terms of sattellite towns like Panipat- historical battles of Panipat were fought here, Kurukshetra where Mahabharat war was fought,or places can be described as places to visit in Delhi, like Humayuns Tomb, Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Bahai Lotus Temple, India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhawan etc.
