Travel Tips
GO TO BUDAPEST!!! Budapest has these amazing baths that are beautiful during the winter because the natural springs are warm and steam is everywhere --- VERY cheap - VERY relazing - Very Cool! Budapest also has great shopping, beautiful city, easy transportation and a very interesting old market just off of the river.

ALSO - Santorini, Greece is AMAZING in late November and December - it is becoming the new IT place since Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and is still a bit untouched. During the summer it is packed but during the late fall/early winter it is so beautiful. Be served breakfast on your private veranda while overlooking the water and the volcano, take donkey rides down winding streets to the waters edge, funiculars, hike the active volcano, swin in the sulphur pools, relax on black sandy beaches, sit and listen to the volcanic rocks click together as the waves come in, visit ancient Thira... Great place to stay... Caldera Apartments... very reasonable price... and the owner is FANTASTIC!!!http://www.tripadvisor.com/showuserrevie... Source(s): 4 month euro vacation

Other Travel Tips
Amsterdam is gorgeous in December. The lights, the frozen canals, ice skating.

Failing that, try Prague or Budapest, both Fantastic all year 'round.
I went last December and did Rome and southern spain. They were both 50-60ish, so nice in between weather. Also not crowded like in the summer. We also hit up London, which was nice, but obviously cold, not chicago cold, but certainly not nice.

If you are in Europe looking for culture and history, then any place you would go in the summer is cool. If you are going for nice weather and a fun time, hit up Greece, Southern Spain, Southern Italy. A bit of both could be skiing in Switzerland, with trips to Munich, Bern or Zurich.

Europe always rocks.
December is a wonderful time to travel as the cities and towns are decorated for Christmas. Have you considered traveling to Germany for the Christmas markets?

Barcelona and Madrid are good as you can shop, visit museums and the weather is somewhat mild.

Austria would be beautiful and if you are a ski bum you could ski on one of their famous slopes. You could base yourself in Innsbruck and have access to many different ski areas. They have ski busses that will take you right up to the slope.

How about Zermatt? Another mountain paradise and a car free village.

I would stay away from the smaller villages and towns. Places like the Cinque Terre, Amalfi Coast, Algarve are bustling during the high season, but during December many shops are closed. Stick to the bigger cities like London, Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Madrid as it is a great time of year to enjoy all these cities have to offer without the crowds.

Southern Spain is excellent..if you are under 30 try Tarifa.. it has a whole wind surfer community there .. Marbella for the wealthy shoppers Granada province is fun but stay close to the ocean.. it can get cold inland..but along the coast it can be gorgeous..
